Problem & product

Inflation Saving habit Automation

Saving for goals is easy to postpone, and cash that sits idle loses purchasing power when inflation is high. People need a simple way to build the habit without moving money manually every time.

Baloot focuses on automated micro-saving: users set small amounts on a schedule (or add money manually). The product then helps steer that balance toward investment options that match their goals.

Project goals

Habitual saving

Support recurring deposits on a cadence users choose (daily, weekly, or monthly), so growing a balance does not depend on remembering each transfer.

Value preservation

Give users clear paths to move savings into funds that fit their risk profile, using automation where it genuinely reduces friction.

Research snapshot

User research 4,895 coded responses 115+ per segment

We ran a large qualitative sweep on Instagram and LinkedIn: thousands of coded responses, with at least 115 answers per income and occupation band (often 400+ in larger segments). That showed why people save, which goals matter, and how answers differ by cohort, so roadmap decisions could lean on structured evidence, not one-off anecdotes.

Implementation

Prototypes Cross-functional Validation

Design work spanned onboarding through investment and portfolio surfaces. We iterated in low- and high-fidelity prototypes, stayed aligned with product and engineering, and checked changes in usability testing so shipped UI matched both user behaviour and business constraints.

Learnings

Plain copy Obvious states Predictable schedules

For fintech in this market, trust grew when copy stayed plain, money states were easy to understand before and after transfers, and schedules stayed predictable, so people always knew what would happen to their balance and when.
